FBIU to Deepen Collaboration with Nigerian Army Hospital on Clinical Posting, Research

As part of its commitment to foster academic excellence through institutional collaboration, Franco-British International University (FBIU), Kaduna, has paid a familiarization visit to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.

The visit aimed to explore avenues for partnership, particularly in clinical training and research undertakings for students in health-related programmes.

The delegation was received by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Brigadier General G.S. Ogoh, after which both parties engaged in discussion.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad, noted that the university was seeking to establish meaningful partnerships that would enable its students to acquire hands-on knowledge of best practices in their respective professions.

According to him, such collaborations would go a long way in equipping the students to deliver quality service after graduation.

Prof. Sabo further disclosed that the University had earlier paid a similar visit to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, where fruitful discussions were held with the management of the hospital on how to join hands in training the students, particularly those in health sciences to benefit from the hospital’s wealth of experience and professional expertise.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director, Brigadier General G.S. Ogoh, assured the delegation of the hospital’s readiness to support the university in areas that align with the facility’s mandate and contribute to societal development.

He added that the facility remains one of the leading healthcare service providers in the state and is reputed as the best Radiological Service Centre in Kaduna State.

In his closing remarks, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Agwaza Bemdoo, expressed deep appreciation to the Chief Medical Director for the warm reception accorded to the team.

He added that the university would require the hospital’s professional expertise in promoting academic excellence, especially in the practical component of health science education.

In attendance were Mal. Rahama Umar Muhammad, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences; Mal. Ibrahim Jibril Aliyu, the Secretary to the University; and the Public Relations Officer, Umar Faruk Tukur, among others.
