FBIU Sets to Strengthen Ties with Nigerian Air Force Medical School

A delegation from Franco-British International University, Kaduna (FBIU), under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad, paid a courtesy call to the Nigerian Air Force School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM), Kaduna.

Recall that NAFSMSAM had recently paid a similar visit to FBIU as part of an effort to establish strong academic ties.

On arrival, the team was received by the Commandant of NAFSMSAM, Air Commodore R. Abdullahi, where the delegation held discussions on the purpose of the visit and the proposed partnership with the college.

Among the management staff of NAFSMSAM that received the delegation were Air Commodore A.M. Ola, Deputy Commandant, Group Captain A.J. Arumona, Registrar NAFSMSAM; Warrant Officer E.V. Elachi; Flying Officer A.M. Bello; and Flying Officer I.J. Abubakar.

In his remarks, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad, stated that the visit was informed by the desire of the university to explore areas of mutual interest for possible collaboration with particular emphasis on students’ training and research undertakings.

He noted that such partnerships would further strengthen the university’s commitment to providing quality education and practical training to its students, especially those pursuing careers in the health sciences.

Responding, Air Commodore R. Abdullahi, who expressed delight over the proposed MoU, gave assurance of the school’s readiness to honour the request as soon as all required processes are completed.


He noted that the areas discussed for the partnership, if carefully implemented, would yield the desired results.

During the interactive session, officials of the two organizations discussed extensively on areas of mutual interest before reaching common ground.

In his closing remarks, the Registrar of the University, Mr.Agwaza Bemdoo, thanked the Management of NAFSMSAM for the warm reception and expressed optimism that FBIU students would benefit immensely from the collaboration once the MoU becomes effective.

During the visit, the delegation were taken on a tour around the school facilities, including the lecture rooms, medical store, laboratories, training hall, school library and solar control room, among others.

Other members of the delegation from FBIU included Dr. Auwalu Lawal Danbuzu, Acting Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance; Mal. Abdullahi Ibrahim Mirnga, Acting Dean of Student Affairs; Umar Faruk Tukur, Public Relations Officer; and Nura Muhammad Abubakar, a member of the Corporate Communications and Protocol Unit.
