FBIU, NACHPN set to partner on Community Health, Scientific Research

As part of an effort to strengthen academic collaboration, officials from the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) on Monday paid a courtesy visit to Franco-British International University (FBIU), Kaduna.

The visit aimed to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the two institutions, with a view to exploring collaborative opportunities in academic and institutional development.

The delegation was led by Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmad, the National President, Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, who was accompanied by Chairman, PHC Tutors, Kaduna State, Mal. Mansur Zuntu.

Other members of the team during the visit included the Provost, Islamic Medical Foundation School of Health Technology, Kaduna, Mal. Aminu Yusuf Gidado; and Head of Department, Abdulmudallib Adamu.

Others in the entourage included Liaison Officer, Kaduna/Katsina Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria, Mal. Abdurrahman Muhammad; and the Public Secretary, NACHPN, Mal. Maharaz Tahir, among others.

The officials were received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad in his office, along with some senior staff members.

In his remarks, the team leader, Comrade Kabir Yahaya, stated that the university is fortunate to have Prof. Sabo as its Vice-Chancellor, describing him as a visionary leader worthy of emulation whose experience and commitment are already making a difference.

While appreciating the management for the warm reception accorded them, Comrade Yahaya assured the university of the Association’s continuous support in promoting the ideals of the institution and strengthening its visibility within the health education sector.

Responding, Prof. Sabo expressed delight over the visit and reaffirmed the university’s readiness to collaborate with relevant professional bodies in promoting quality health education.

He revealed that plans are underway to mount a Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Community Health at FBIU, adding that such an initiative aligns with the institution’s vision of producing competent, community-oriented health professionals.

Prof. Sabo further emphasized that the university’s doors remain open to accommodate innovative partnerships, research-driven programmes.

The visiting team was later conducted around some of the university’s facilities, including the University Library, software and hardware lab, Science Laboratories, Lecture Rooms, and the Administrative Block.

Among the management staff of FBIU present during the visit were Mal. Aminu Ibrahim, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Computing, Nura Muhammad Abubakar, and Umar Faruk Tukur, Ag. Director, Linkages and collaborations.
