FBIU Management Pays Courtesy Visit To Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital
The Management of Franco-British International University, Kaduna (FBIU), led by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad, on Monday, 14th March, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital (BDTH), Kaduna.
Prof. Sabo and his team were warmly received by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Abdulkadir Musa Tabari, along with some management staff of BDTH, where they had discussions on the purpose of the visit and the proposed partnership with the hospital.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor of the University, prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad, explained that the visit was initiated as part of the university’s effort to explore areas of mutual interest for possible collaboration, with particular emphasis on students’ clinical training and research undertakings.
He added that, such collaboration is essential in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and the practical skills required in the healthcare sector.
Responding, Prof. Musa commended FBIU Management for their interest in partnering with the hospital in the areas of health education, clinical research, and training of students in practical hospital settings.
While giving a brief history of the facility, Prof. Musa said Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital was established in the ancient city of Kaduna in 1930 as a colonial dispensary, which later evolved into the New General Hospital in 1985, and eventually into a Teaching Hospital in 2015.
He further noted that the transformation into a Teaching Hospital was to serve the purpose of training medical students, supporting academic research, and delivering specialized healthcare services to the public.
Prof. Musa thanked the delegation for the visit and expressed appreciation for the proposed collaboration as it will go along way in promoting academic excellence.
Other embers of the delegation from FBIU included the Registrar, Mr. Agwaza Bemdoo; Mal. Rahama Umar Muhammad, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences; Mal. Ibrahim Jibril Aliyu, the Secretary to the University; and the Public Relations Officer, Umar Faruk Tukur, among others.
